Does this firm have a reputation for restricting accounts?

I tried to back one today and only when I reduced the stake did it accept the bet. I even tried rebooting the laptop in case the fault was at my end but it didn't alter things.

It's not as if I'm massively in profit with them (only about 50 points but with another 40 return due when Celtic are confirmed spfl champions) but I thought that since it was Betfair there wouldn't be any restrictions anyway.

Anyone else had their betting restricted?

(I managed to get the bet on at the same price elsewhere anyway so get it right up them.)

I had a pop up last weekend funnily enough, telling me I was no longer eligible for bonuses and my stakes would be reviewed. No doubt the influence of that tin pot firm they merged with.

I technically worked for them for 6 months. They employ monkeys who go through reports everyday and close anyone who backs a mover. There are arguably the worst of the "big" bookmkaers.

When did they merge, then?

I ask because I was/am/have been in dispute with the other bookie for many years. To be honest, I don't know if my account was ever closed even though I told them to close it. I was just wondering if the restriction had anything to do with that. I've been in profit with them for some time but don't bet particularly often with them.

The one was trying to back (and it was just a half-point saver at 5/1) was Kruzhlinin, which didn't appear to be particularly heavily backed anywhere else.

PP stopped being a good place to work last September when the merger was announced. It was official in February. Your PP account had nothing to do with it. There is nothing stopping you opening another PP account, there is no room for principles in betting, just nail the bastards. Do you think PP gives a **** if you ever bet with them again or not?

I presumed they'd have details of my previous activity/dispute with them on record and would simply not allow me to open another account.

I'm not sure I can be bothered going through all the processes only to be denied immediately or after a few bets.

Boylesports is another I just can't get on with. I keep reducing the stakes right down to £5 and they keep telling me to reduce it further. At that point it's a total waste of time.

The bookie I'm furthest in front with is b365 (well over 500pts to an average of 1 pt win stakes) has never restricted me or denied me a bet.

I've just realised - my Celtic bet isn't with Betfair, it's with b365. The Betfair bet was an attempt to lay Newco at 4/7 in the betting without Celtic when they were 4pts in front of Aberdeen and generally 8/15. It is highly likely that they will be at best in administration, and maybe even liquidated, before the end of the season.

Once you have a Bet365 account and perhaps a Stan James account you really don't need the others. If I were you I would open a PP account t have when required.

I have accounts with 15 bookmakers and they are the only one I am restricted by. My Exchange account is in profit, I don't know if that is related.

It was probably used as an excuse to restrict you. Their risk team was mismanaged and it has given them a brand recognition of the bookmaker that restricts anyone. They are beyond a disgrace as a firm.

Slim, are you talking about PP or Betfair Sportsbook?

Didn't think anyone could get hardly any sort of bet with sportsbook, they're pricing up horses at 40/1 that should be 8/1 they are taking 50 pence bets by the looks, anyone who rhinks they can get me some bets on these crazy prices please send me a pm..could make a right killing on the multip0les..:lol::lol:

Just checked my Bf Sportsbook history for the last three months.

I've had two winning bets out of 22 but they show a profit. The vast majority of the bests were half-point savers or multiples to half-point or smaller stakes. One of the winning bets was a half-point win (saver) on Sire De Grugy 9/1 at Ascot in that handicap he won (the main bet was Vaniteux with another bookie) and the other was a half-point ew double Shuil Royale (NR) and Un Beau Roman (w33/1) which turned out to be a winning 'double'.

I'd suggest 2 winning bets out of 22 (9%) is nothing great so would have to wonder why they're restricting me. At least other bookies had the courtesy of informing me in advance that they were either restricting me or withdrawing odds guarantees or special offers from me.

I'm tempted to say it will be their loss if I stop reduce even further my betting with them but maybe it won't :)

my account is restricted but the positive with them is you can have the same bet every 24hours. much of my punting is AP and special bets, so normally not an issue to get may stakes on over a week or so

Yes that makes it completely ok to restrict everyone...
