Question regarding Sky account.

Seems my restrictions are getting further, not able to get more than £20/£30 on a horse now.(Not quite pence like some people, yet) What I dont understand is, a friend with an account, who has much better profit on his account, over a period of time as well, can still get what he wants on within reason.

I dont know why, but its bugging the absolute life out of me. I rarely stake over the amounts anyway, but it’d be nice to have to option.

I don’t get how this works tbh. Guessing some algorithms?
 
Yeah as you alluded to its far more complex than simple profit. Continously beating SP will for example get you closed/restricted far quicker. Another one is placing what a bookie considers 'bad e/w bets. Dutching and crafty manipulation of bonuses a d special offers are also no nos.

A few years ago Powers were refunding stakes on fallers in chases.My brother started backing every runner in small field chases -won about a ton or so over a month and had his account restricted -no guaranteed prices or special offers.
 
I find skybet a bit of a joke.im nowhere near being a big gambler but last week I wanted to have £20ew on one and luckily for me they only allowed 11.36 ew.
Yesterday I tried to have £10 win on one and accidently put an extra 0 (100) and it said only £79 allowed.
Maybe they want me to gamble responsibly.
 
Anyone who complains about not getting money on has noone to blame but themselves.

How long has it been going on? I remember tring to have a large bet with Corals on 6/1 shot my friend was riding.

They refused me and ding dong..price change...6/4...I swear and they never took a penny for it.

From that day on any large bets I had were put on at the course by contacts who worked on the rails or I went to the meeting personally.

Ante Post bets were put on all over the place to have a decent bet then the best thing ever happened.........BETFAIR.

The last at Naas has just run and 390,000 pound was matched. You could have had 2000 pound on easily from 10/1 to 8/1

I bet you couldn't have got 50 quid on at 10/1 in the bookies or on line..........so why entertain them and why moan about not being laid a bet?

Easy enough to say when your account hasn’t been closed by Betfair (never even gave me a reason)

I haven't used betfair for a while but that's only because they are now linked with Paddy Power who I self excluded from about 15 years ago.

As I understand it if you are banned/excluded from one then you are automatically banned from the other.

That said, I have explained to Paddy Powers my self exclusion was as a result of being young and naive and it wasn't a permanent exclusion anyway.

They have told me to come back to them with passport, utility bill, proof of address etc and then they may reinstate me.

So if this happens I could use Betfair again. I am 36 now. I feel I am more disciplined now than I was fifteen years ago.

No point getting older if you are getting none the wiser as the saying goes....

I spoke to a fella last week who said he turned 100 quid into 3 grand but then carried on all night and lost the 3 grand.

I told him to pack in gambling.

If I ever have been lucky enough to win 2 to 3 grand or even 1 grand I have always taken the money and done some rational things with it.

The idea a man or woman can't take a good win and has to lose the lot is a scary one to me. I feel throwing away a good win is the most degenerate tendency of the lot in gambling.

It can happen to anyone the odd time I suppose but surely for the most part you tell yourself if you win or get to a certain amount to bank it...otherwise what is the point in the first place? It completely defeats the object!

Closed or suspended? It is very unusual for Betfair to close your betfair exchange account unless you are suspected of laying your own horses or money laundering.

Sometime is you try to log in too many times uncuccessfully they will suspend your account.

The Sportsbook is a different matter but it's not worth having anyway as the prices they offer are shockingly bad

Whichever. I did try to reopen it but got a reply saying they weren’t willing to do so
