Betting Question...

A patent is 3 x singles, 3 x doubles and a treble.

Permutations is having more than one runner in the race. Your stake on all seven bets is split across the multiple runners.

In effect you have separate patents for each possible combination of runners.

An example? Where A = a horse, B = a different horse etc. :D

Race 1: A,B
Race 2: C,D,E
Race 3: F

These are the bets in a permed patent:

Singles: A,B,C,D,E,F
Doubles: AC,AD,AE,AF,BC,BD,BE,BF,CF,DF,EF
Trebbes: ACF,ADF,AEF,BCF,BDF,BEF

I think that's right...

oh cool - so that my horse in the first won is giving me the best chnace of anything happening later?? :D

whooohooo !! (watch me rake in my vast winnings for my 1p bet....)
