From studying this weekend's cards, yes, I am, but I'm looking at the National etc.

Seriously thinking about starting the Lincoln today but will probably need to wait until I see the published card on Wednesday as I need the race reference numbers.

Euro's post has reminded me that I have The Lion In Winter ante-post for the Derby (20/1) and I have just ordered the Timeform Horses to Follow book for the Flat season which will arrive tomorrow. I'm not a great believer in their ratings but the industry seems to be and that can influence markets. The stuff is well enough written but not as sharp as it used to be and I still lament their influence in the dropping of the possessive adjective in racing parlance*, eg 'He ran well on debut' rather than 'his debut'.

*I don't actually blame Timeform for this. The possessive adjective can be dropped in their typical synopses but presenters I would have expected to know better appear to have assumed Timeform's grammarians have their phraseology correct. It's a form of hypercorrection that would have my old Higher English teacher** spinning in his proverbial.

**And if you're still alive and reading this, George, I hope you're proud that I remember this stuff
