Oh my humble apologies PDJ, so this has been on this forum before?Do you honestly think i would have posted it if I had known that? Some of us do not have the time to look at all the thread. Will one of the mods please delete this threads, then PDJ will able to sleep at night. :angy:

Uncle G - that is so cruel!

No way, Dims - I hadn't seen it before, and I thought it was quite cute. So if my co-Mods agree, let's leave it up to annoy everyone who's spotted it earlier. ;) It's not like we've gone 24 hours without criticising someone or something, is it?

Cant say that I have seen it before.... but I think what PDJ is on about is BIRD FLU posts in general... which again is what I would term as the news!!! and topical too so anything of this nature !! including whimsical postings!!.......... I am sorry one has got to take them ALL in your stride.......

DIM   or should I say ORR............

It was posted on Final Furlong at the weekend which I think is why PDJ has asked the question.

Don't recall seeing it on here before though.

Well, I think Brian posted it previously on here but it hardly merits such an acerbic response.

One can only assume Pee's got that PMT I was on about elsewhere.....

Songsheet,

Please don't use such hard words.

Word of the Day for Sunday October 24, 2004
acerbic \uh-SUR-bik\, adjective:
Sharp, biting, or acid in temper, expression, or tone.

But more than that, he is a social critic, and an efficient one, acerbic and devastating.
-- Benoit Aubin, "Quebec's King of Comedy," Maclean's, August 27, 2001

Since I started out as a writer many years ago, I have built a reputation as an acerbic, mean-spirited observer of the human condition.
-- Joe Queenan, My Goodness: A Cynic's Short-Lived Search for Sainthood

Joey gained a reputation as a smart aleck adept at delivering acerbic one-liners.
-- "Joseph Heller, Author of 'Catch-22,' Dies at 76," New York Times, December 14, 1999

To me the acerbic response appeared to be the one that appeared in reply to PDJ.

Yes, it's been posted on here (and I haven't looked at the majority of threads that have been on here over the last 2 weeks or so!) and on FF, hence why he asked the question, I'm sure. If anyone posts duplicate threads, or opens a thread on a subject already under discussion, or - God forbid - posts something that has already appeared, they are usually jumped on from a great height by several people so one question is hardly an "acerbic response"! Why is everyone so touchy at the moment?

  Dom, coming from you that is so, so rich!

If Pee had said "I think this has been posted before - maybe the topics could be merged by a Mod" none of us would have responded.

If a picture or anything else appears on another forum, that's no reason to assume everyone on here would have seen it several times - I do belong to FF but I don't visit it - probably nor does Dims - so she wouldn't have seen it. I hadn't seen Phil's very funny make a movie clip before but evidently it's been posted on here...... and it certainly amused me, so thanks to Phil for posting that!

I am a member on FF, but I don't frequent their general chit chat area very often, so apologies for not seeing the photo on that forum and more apologies for not seeing Brian's version on here.

Not good enough if that's your attempt as an apology Diminuendo. I think you should stay behind this evening and write out 1000 times.

I will check every posting on FF and this forum before posting in future.

You may (and I say may) then be forgiven. B)

 Next time any of us inadvertently repeat ourselves, let's have someone perk up and remind us we've said it before, therefore kindly leave the stage... it's a running farce on here at present, anyway!

Right, that's it! Off to the Headmaster's office with you - NOW!! Oh, hang on - Ardross isn't online at the moment is he? G'wan then, spoil yourself rotten and say it again!

Was it rude? Acerbic? I don't think it was either. It was a genuine question as I have seen it many times. If you think that's rude, I wish I lived in such a sugar-coated world.
