Can we perhaps have one birthday thread for all birthdays rather than all these blasted threads ?

I know they drive many forumites mad - hence it seems the satirical threads - Lord H can't stand them - opinions please

Fair enough - but there can be too many at times! I'm sure that people wouldn't object to, say, one thread being put up if there are two people with a birthday on the same day.

Is it worth stickying a birthday thread that people can get named on when it is their birthday??!!!!

I have a 'significant' birthday on 18/09.

Maybe 'significant' isn't the right word. 'Milestone'? 'Millstone'?

I think it's a nice thing to do putting up an individual Happy Birthday thread for forumites, but then some forumites on here are just far too grumpy and it's probably no coincidence that it was me that put up two this week B) For gods sake what's the harm in wishing someone a Happy Birthday? This place never fails to amaze me sometimes.

Oh dear Latey, I think you just signed your own death warrant this time.

Good job Krizon likes (liked) you! :nerd:

Is that a hearse Latey? :D I don't think Krizon will go that far - but then it was a picture of Wurzel and women can be very temperamental about their hair?

I believe not :o

Second and final message to me......book the hearse early, get the discount.

Curiously enough, I'm having a tonsorial adjustment made tomorrow morning before frightening the horses at Fontwell later - Latey's photo isn't too wide of the mark! And as Wurzel Gummidge was one of my childhood faves, he's forgiven...

... heh, heh, heh. (Cackles to self, plucking hairs from warty old chin, and retrieves "Ye Anciente Spelles and Curses" from dusty bookshelf.) :teeth:

What certain individuals fail to grasp, is that some people may LIKE being wished a Happy Birthday. People fail to grasp that some people are on forums because they are lonely and may have a limited amount of friends and family. To come onto a forum that they spend much of their time and see that they are wished a Happy Birthday by their cyber friends may mean a great deal to them.

The grumpy ones on this forum can continue to ignore the threads, and continue their thread on the current best wine available in Sainsburys or what is happening in Big Brother or what band they are currently finding exciting. Each to their own. I think it is quite sad that people want to change the way Happy Birthday threads are started when there could be individuals that are over the moon when they see they are being sent Birthday wishes by their "friends" on this forum.

Better to just PM them a message and make it heartfelt as opposed to just putting up a Happy Birthday thread to prove to the world what a nice person you are

They clutter up space, and once you post one for someone, then you have to post it for everyone. What about those who have their birthday stickied and don't get a happy birthday message - are they deliberately being ignored or what?

If two birthday messages are posted on the same day and one person get's 3 replies and the other 33 yer probably gonna destroy the confidence of the one with 3 who'll wonder why not as many people wished them happy birthday as the other person

They're boring threads dominated by the same people saying the same things. It's being grumpy, I agree, but please in the name of God stop them

Now where's me butter

I'm with Kathy on this - I have really no interest in the wine lists, I never read about Big Brother, or a bunch of other things, because they're of little to no interest to ME - but I would never say 'don't have any more "Your Ten Best/Worst...." topics' even if I do think they're peurile! C'mon - "What are you listening to now?" What's the point of that? A list of titles and everyone saying oh yeah, oh yeah. Wow.
