At the Start
I look for horses to follow based upon how they finish, relying on the Racing Post returns and watching carefully for certain phrases which might indicate their handicap mark might not be truly accurate.
These phrases have done me proud over many years and I am rarely ever tempted to add to my 'key phrases' list.
But last night Black Cloud's previous race read 'finished with a rattle', not a phrase I have come across, but reading it positively I included BR in a lowstake L15.
I'm wondering if I have overlooked any more novel commentaries - its left me a little purplexed.
