So, 6 o'clock on Xmas eve and wife, mother and inlaws are already driving me insane.

I've therefore started looking at Friday's cards. This thread is for everyone's advance selections.

I'll kick off with an obvious one - Batavir, 1.40 Wincanton. Tom Scu is helicoptering to Kempton afterwards so the fact he rides this is a tip in itself. Anything around 6/4 would be a bet.

Didn't know you were round at my in laws house Benny :D
Batavia looks a likely type but Ambion Wood was a smart hurdler 2 seasons back which included a Grade 3 handicap off top weight and switches back to hurdles this season after a poor season chasing
Victor Dartnall also 2 from 3 in this race

I like Joshua Lane at Leopardstown.
first run for JP , the Champion Bumper third is not the biggest horse yet clearly has an engine.
I have taken 25s for Supreme Novice H so am hoping he wins by half the track Friday.

My mother in law is watching Eastenders on Sky+...will she never go to bed :D
I've backed Gilgamboa at Limerick. Loved the way he jumped first time out and am surprised he's not clear fav
Am at Kempton on Friday and will back Jollyallan & Creepy (am already on Al ferof & Cue Card for the KG), Faugheen wins but too short to get involved

And anyone seeking a justification for the above reasoning won't receive one. Other than that both horses are in my separate TTF competitions.

Posted hours ago gawd knows where it went.

On my mobile and cant remember the horses names.

Anyway S conti should taje care of Menorah again. The latter need only maje one mistake at these Kempton fences and likr Imperial Commander did...find himself struggling.

Main bet over Xmas for me runs in the first at Kempton.

RUBY'S mount was praised by timeform when beating ziltch...he jumping was woesome over the last 3 so I cant see him winning....the 3rd fav beat a horse of Nicky Henderson but he has had a lot of problems so the form is probably flattering.

Harry Fry JP and AP team up and although not fav I reckon the horse should be.

Lovely horse great attitude and imvho should not be missed...anything over 5/2 will do for me as I expct he will go off at around 15 /8

Sorry bout the names but sure anyone intereted can work it out

Merry xmá punting to all

I've been waiting for this one to appear and over 2mile+. Be something if he turns over Velvet Maker first time out.

Liked the attitude of Thunder Zone last week. Not seen any ante post for Triumph or Fred Winter. May not beat Kalkir, but I'm watching him. He's lowly rated and trip on the short side for Embracing Change in Paddy Power if he gets a run. I am doing Donatulo at Wetherby and Knock House. Decided Sgt Reckless for a place was a bit too fanciful.

Theinval looks overpriced at 8/1 in the last at Kempton
Won well here this season in between 2 moderate runs at Sandown

The lager has been rinsed off and the Advocaat has gone the same way. Pernod is going through it's paces and after that, the final boss comes out in the form of the formidable Rakija. So if I post any more tips over the next few days then I'm giving you fair warning... Although you never know, Rakija may well bring out the sage in me if it doesn't burn my insides to smithereens first.

Whilst I still have certain faculties about myself, Bishop Wulstan looks bombproof in the opener at Fontwell provided his jockey manages to keep within a furlong of the leader turning in. The tissues have him at around evens but I would be pleasantly surprised if he goes off anywhere near that price.

The Rowland Merrick is always a good race to get your teeth into. David Pipe has the hotpot in the race but on thus ground Cape Tribulation showed enough last time out to indicate he will take some beati
lng today

I was going to go to the mother in laws funeral next week. But she cancelled it.

knock house looks good to me. That fakenham race he won has worked out well.

Saphir du Rheu will be hard to beat and the current 13/8 looks generous to me

With you Clive on Knock House

Champagne Fever
Cue Card
River Maigue
Sign of a victory
Nicholls horse in bumper at Wincanton
Gilgamboa
Sausalito Sunrise and Coneygree v Saphir du Rheu

Unlikely to bet in the race, but the Christmas Hurdle fascinates as to how the pace will make up? If Ruby's serious, he surely has to force it, but if it's just a look-see to test his gear change for the CH, then he'll probably just bide his time.
Haven't a clue to which route he'll take, so I'll sit it out altogether and have a bit more on Champagne Fever, as 6/1 has the looks of finding money in the street.

The RW looks a difficult puzzle but I have had a small go on Cape Tribulation too
Missed the early morning prices but Storm Of Swords should go close in 1.20 @ Huntingdon
Ditto Obistar in 2.10 @ Towcester.

Champagne Fever at 6s and 11/2 - laying some back IR at 3/1
Cue Card - each way at 10s small win at 8s
Wonderful Charm - IR request at 20 place market
Faugheen/Horatio Hornblower (1440 Towcester)/ Al Ferof - small treble

I really liked Stellar Notions run lto. Brennan really likes this one and he'll end up rated much higher than 129. Solid bet at 4's.

Just looked at the Rowland Meyrick, anyone who saw Broadway Buffalo win the other following a change to tactics must be surprised he's such a big price. It's a concern he isn't shorter but I'll be playing up some of my winnings on him at 7/2.
