Brightwells Sales

The Westerner that Roger Brookhouse bought - Champagne West should prove to be top class from what a few knowledgeable judges I know over the sea tell me DG.

He spent 3/4 million which is more than his entire string has won him in his lifetime. Must have caught the bug when Cheltenian won the bumper. Unless he's buy for someone else as well as himself?????

Whatever happened to Cheltenian didn't he pay 1/4 million for him?

Ronnie O'learly has a real good eye for a horse and picked up one for 9k which showed a fair bit of promise in a 1m6f bumper at Carlisle. Big rangy type looks certain to win races.

He's dab hand at bringing them on and reselling them and I'd like to bet he'll be running in green and gold sometime in the future.

You can guarantee when O'Leary sells one he'll get a good deal for it (Fascino Rustico and Claiming Benefits for instance).

Cheltenian was injured last season I believe but hoping he's back this year :)

I remember turning Cheltenian down when he was offered to me at £70k prior to his bumper. Such is life but I did buy a nice one Lot 11 Letbeso to join the corral,at Brightwells Friday night. Had a lot of positive vibes from Irish trainers on Saturday about him. He is down at Peter Bowens with our others

Good luck with him - Liz Doyle certainly knows how to produce a Cheltenham horse with Cheltenian and Al Ferof from a small enough string in recent seasons.
