Britain is suffering a baby 'shortage' with potentially disastrous consequences, according to dramatic new research urging an £11bn campaign to boost parenthood.

According to calculations by the respected think-tank, the Institute for Public Policy Research, we're 90,000 babies a year short.

Griffin is doing her bit, so I'd like the rest of you lady members to get going now - your country needs you!

According to a money programme shown a few years back the situation is worse in Italy where it has become entirely acceptable for a man to stay with his mother.

I always used to say to my wife "A fool and his mummy are soon parted".

Is there a bright star in the East tonight? :brows: It'd take a miracle for me to replicate - what a terrifying thought for Mankind...

Yes, I'm trying hard but I think after this one I'll be retired. Four is more than enough :D

I read in the Daily Mail today about a woman who could be loosely described as 'doing her bit' for her country. She's got 13 children, wants even more and hasn't worked a day in her life, the state pays for all of the little cherubs

Hard to see how she has any time to work...
But she claims almost £28000 a year in benefits. If she can't afford to provide for her family herself she shouldn't be increasing it and expecting others to foot the bill.

What do you suggest - compulsory sterilisation?
I don't know what the answer is. I wouldn't want her kids to be deprived by stopping her benefits but it disgusts me that she is selfish enough to want more when she can't fund the ones she's got herself.

:o While I am in favour of a welfare state, to help those in need, this couple are obviously using or abusing it to further their own cause and live happily ever after, there can be no justification for such a large family....

I bet they don’t work and have never ever worked, have free rented accommodation and everything else free as well, and can live in what some may term as luxury compared to how some live in the U/K, on the handouts given to them.

They should be stopped from having so many, 4 babies is enough and funding should be stopped after they reach this amount, they then have babies at their own on cost/expense!! That surely would curtail them and make them think again if no monies were forthcoming after the forth was born..... :o
JUST A THOUGHT...........

MERLIN for Chancellor............... :P

ALL IN FAVOUR say aye...... ;)

Not a serious problem really. The 90,000 gaps created by missing babies will be filled by increasing the quotas of immigrants.
