On BBC1 just now, investigation into 5 wanted paedophiles. Raising the question of whether or not we (Britain) should bring in Sarah's Law.

I'll be honest, I'd rip a paedophile's face off with my bare hands if he ever caused any of my loved ones harm.

I agree, but a Sarahs law is going to lead to vigilantism, why are other criminals treated as rehabilitated by prison yet when paedophiles are released they are always classed as a threat?

Probably a lot to do with the disgust that society associates with the crime of sexually abusing a child. It's almost as if society does not want to accept someone may actually be rehabilitated. Perhaps, society is saying that some crimes are unforgivable.

If a crime is unforgiveable, we should have the death penalty, prison is supposed to be both punishment and rehab, if we as people cant accept rehab from some crimes they should be executed.

That's the irony. Some people would say that they cannot be rehabilitated but do not believe in the death penalty.

I agree that vigilante revenge attacks would be rife.

With 5 0`s track record in getting the wrong man the death penalty is the last thing we need.

but we have better forensics now than we did in the 50s, guilt is a lot more definite these days

Plus the likes of Ian Huntley will never be released so why are we using public money to keep him imprisoned

Pity the justice system is corrupt and the Police are thick as ######.

Are you a believer in the death penalty Phil?
Do you mean am I in favour of having it as a punishment? Maybe, but as Euro points out executing an innocent man would not be pleasant. :suspect:

The programme on BBC1 was not that good.
