Might be about time to start noting horses that appear to have put up unusually fast times.
The one I've come across this evening is the winner of the final race at Epsom last Wednesday, Chatez.
Either this was the only true-run race of the day or the form is some way better than either the RPRs or official ratings. The analysis suggests there was plenty of early pace and that the leaders paid for it but some of those that were held up didn't get into it either. I just wonder of the leaders went a good, but not over-fast pace, and that the first two are very smart. My figures suggest the first seven have run fast.
I'll be banking on this race producing future winners although I suspect the truth of the matter is somewhere between the [new] official ratings and my own.
