Not got much to lose.
Apologies if a duplicate of a previous thread; talking to car sales people today from various manufacturers, taking into account they are car sales people and may need a pinch of salt sometimes with the things they say ( no offence to any on the forum), but they all said that the Government scrappage deal is fast running out and it may be finished as early as mid September due to the number of cars already sold. I have spoken to four different dealerships/manufacturers and they all said the same thing so if you are thinking of taking advantage of the present deals, I would do it quickly.

It's all a bit of a con too, but a brilliant one. If you shop around, it isn't too difficult to get £2000 off a new car, especially a large one. I suppose it has served its purpose and has therefore been a big success.

I can tell you my brother-in-law got a brand new £18k+ Honda Civic for under £13k just a few months ago without the scrappage deal.

I'd be more impressed if I could get a Bentley Flying Spur for under £13K, with or without the scrappage deal... I doubt that any money's coming off the top end of the market, is it?

It may depend - top end models may not be selling in volume so deals may be had; would really depend on the dealerships' figures to date so far. I was happy with the deal I got. I would not have been able to afford a brand new car without the scrappage deal even though it is a financial push to buy one with the deal in place.
