As people are getting used to living without cash, the betting ring's existence is under more pressure. Do the racecourse bookmakers need to get proactive in marketing cash betting as an integral part of a day at the races? My latest blog

I think you've managed to cover most of the reasons why any punters who know what they are doing will be betting on their phone instead the betting rings future solely seems to depend on those who haven't actually got a clue about markets and prices and have no idea that they are having their pants pulled down. I can't really think of a single reason why people would bet with on course bookies now. I don't think being able to use cash especially for the kids will entice them in no matter how matter how sexy the slogans. Its a shame but things evolve and those things that can't go extinct.

It's unfortunate but I don't see how they can survive. The off course bookmaking sp 's can be a joke but not many complain. When it comes to Goodwod the off course bookmakers will try and argue that it's not right to return an on course sp. As most of them are commission agents not a great loss but I feel for the few genuine ones.
