I'm not sure if anyone else saw this but earlier this week on channel 4 the comedian Hardeep Singh (Tartan Turban) presented a programme that had him go around the country trying to find out why we are so pet mad in this country (bear with me this is relevent!) he could not understand why we were prepared to spend so much money on our pets yet ignore the suffering in other countries, towards the end of the programme he walked through a town centre with two collecting tins, one for homeless dogs & the other for homeless people, the result? all but one person put their money in the homeless dogs tin the reason given by most was that the dogs can't help themselves which is true, yet they all seemed to think that the reason most lived on the streets was of their own choosing & they could just walk into council offices etc & get housed if they wanted too :blink: its scary that this is the opinion of the general public.
