On Channel 4 now, some scientists whatever are ripping open a dead body!! THIS IS ALL WRONG!! Horrible!!

This is the most digusting programme ever!! We shouldn't be allowed to see this stuff.

Can I suggest you exercise your democratic right to not watch it, then? Or do you still need Mummy and Daddy to tell you what you're 'allowed' to see?

The bodies are not being 'cut up', they are being anatomized. If there were no anatomical studies, no-one would be able to undergo any surgical procedures. Last year, this anatomist plasticated anatomized bodies and put them on show for anyone interested in the physical functioning of the human form to see. All the bodies were donated for such use by their owners, so he hasn't been raiding the morgue.

I've thoroughly enjoyed them so far. Whilst I know all the theory that they're teaching, it's good to actually see the real corpse and organs rather than just seeing things in diagrams and animal dissections that I've performed in the past.

A corpse with a great big hole cut in his torso. The pathologist (is that the right term) was going up a stepladder to adjust the lighting/camera - that was enough detail for me.
