Channel 4 Paddy Power Ad

Never mind the PP ad - the two page advert Hills took out in the Racing Post today was a bloody disgrace.

I didn't see it but Lydia Hislop was going absolutely mental about it on Twitter. If anyone can scan it and upload it, that'd be fab as I rarely buy the RP these days in print form. I read it at work and buy it when going racing but that does me.

Through out my copy yesterday at disgust at having turned what should have been a very profitable day into one with a net loss of €5. Basically by being a chicken shit and by Nacarat not staying the last 2f. And having to get my son up from his nap and missing the off time on the Lanzarote (wanted to put €25 e/w on Euro's yolk),

One of the pages gave a pen picture of six young Hills employees. Generally attractive, mostly female foreign nationals who are hard workers and trying to improve themselves and society by studying masters courses and being nice to punters.

The other page implied that these jobs are at risk if Hills don't get their way.

Why isn't Hills employing generally attractive, mostly female British nationals who are hard workers - and presumably capable of being nice to punters without needing to take a Master's course in Customer Relations?

The point wasn't that they were mainly either foreign or young or female, it was more that they were saying "look at these people, they may be out of a job if we are actually made to cough up what we should have put into the Levy in the first place, and more importantly our directors and traders will also have to suffer cuts to their nice fat tax-free bonuses"

Oh, so they could've used more realistic models - like spotty-faced, pale, geeky nerds?

Agree SL.. very condescending to those involved as well - one comment under a man (looked of Pakistani background) said 'he works to support his family', with the insinuation being any increase in levy payments would stop this from continuing.

Balls to the free bets. They should run a competition where the first prize is the young(ish) lady in the ads coming round with that whiteboard pointer/whip.
