Cheltenham By Car Ferry

You can go to Liverpool too I think, from Dun Laoghaire. Might be quicker than Hollyhead in terms of getting to civilisation before Cheltenham.

Why do your instructions show 'trip' duration and 'driving time' duration, Merlin? And why wouldn't they be the same, anyway, unless you figure on stopping for a pee somewhere, filling up, eating, getting held up by roadworks/one-way traffic/tractor with hay bales/horsebox/old bastid doing 27.5mph in a Ford Fiesta?

:D Actually, I'm picking 'her' up from the garage today - I told them I NEED her by 1.00 pm. because I'm watching racing - gales of laughter about the 'need' bit! She's been doing this juddering and shuddering lark for the past couple of weeks or so, as if she's cold in the morning. This goes on for the crawl out of Brighton at 30mph, with wee spurts of acceleration (not from me). When we get out onto the motorway, she's fine, and fine for re-starts during the day. The garage has had her since Monday and she has not misbehaved once for them! :suspect: I don't think it's the dodgy petrol thing, because I haven't bought any from supermarkets. I didn't know if it was spark plugs, fuel line, what, and now, neither do they. Just like a naughty child!

I did lust almost seriously after a silver Lexus automatic in the showroom where I bought her 500 years ago. It was slightly secondhand, and only £9,500. On the other hand, as long as she goes, and wants to go, she's all right by me. Handles really well - you should see how she rails on tight turns against BMWs - nobody takes our line! (Being a passenger with me is probably rather awful - I'm forever admonishing side-roaders to 'sit!' and shrieking at 'toy' cars that clog up the flow - only inside the car, though - I don't put down windows to bawl at them. Well, it amuses me, if no-one else!)

Seems to me "she" just needs more TLC, of course it could be a complaint about how much weight she is asked to carry in every trip to the track!!! :shy: :P

How big are the garage mechanics???? norty

JON its quite easy actually let me explain.......... in the tools on the said programme you need to put the speed that you would do on A roads B roads motoways etc and no pee's are taken in my trips but yes you can add those and towns on a via basis, but I print the FASTEST WAY TO GET ANYWHERE this again is an option!!!
hope this helps your inquisitive brain............. :P :P :)

But, Merlin, the speed I'd like to do on A, B, C, D and M ways is the same - about 95 mph. However, the speed I will probably actually do is around 17.5 mph, allowing for Volvo drivers, tractors, road works, accidents, one-way lights, mini-moped riders doing 8.5 mph, long vehicles with 'this vehicle is restricted to 53 mph' on their backsides, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera! :angy:

But thanks for the info - Songsheet is constantly appalled at my variations on a trip to get from Brighton to Wellington and back (I'm up to at least five by now), mostly due to coming off too soon or too late, having written down my navigation route beforehand, and using at least one road atlas! She says I must buy a Tom-Tom, but why do I need a set of drums in the car?

:D :D oh and the costs can be worked out the same way if you fill that part in re £ per litre etc............

The time starting is also available 9-00 am being default as you now see.........

Heres a route is this any better ???????? print it out if it is ...............
