Queen Mother Champion Chase 2m
Usually dominated by those that are well fancied, as they tend to have exposed form. Most winners of this have won or been placed at the Festival before. Older horses at the peak of their form do best (eight, nine and 10-year-olds). At the age of six Voy Por Ustedes became the youngest winner of this for 34 years last year. He has obvious chances again, but the improving eight-year-old Tamarinbleau should prove a cracking each-way bet.

No five-year old has won this, although Blazing Bailey and Kasbah Bliss ran well last year. Six, seven and eight year-olds do best. It would be a tremendous achievement if hot favourite Inglis Drever were to win for a third time, but at nine he looks worth opposing.

Cheltenham Gold Cup 3m 2f 110y
Kauto Star is not the perfect Gold Cup type despite winning it last year and being the most highly rated. Kauto’s jumping is too patchy for me at Cheltenham (he fell when favourite in the Champion Chase). Denman is a proper Gold Cup type and must surely win. As Arkle did to Mill House, Denman can do to Kauto Star. Exotic Dancer and Neptune Collonges are big prices for a place.

Typed out some more in depth stuuf but it crashed, here's the highlights:

Group Captain - class, 5/1 likely to disappear tomorrow morning

Tamarinbleu / VPU for the big one, forecast chance

Najad Du Misselot one of a few bound to have been laid out for the Coral Cup, Laustra Bad to keep up good course record at big price.

Pass It On being backed a bit for the 4 miler, 40/1 and shortening.

I had a little bet on Junior at 16/1 with Boyles and within moments it was 12's!! (Coral Cup).
Surely my bet can't have shortened it by four points.
Of course because I have backed it it will get stuffed.

Four decent chances for Alan King tomorrow I think.

Some interesting money today for Kruguyrova for the Grand Annual - am guessing has come out of the race yesterday ok and maybe looking go one better on Friday? 12/1 with Betfred is standout at the moment, NRNB e/w 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

No way that Charlie Egerton would allow one of his best horses to be exploited in this way. That's just not Charlie.

So is the rest of Cheltenham...nice to see the horse win but place has gone quiet!! lol
That's because McCoy didn;t get up immediatly and Don;t Push It has only just got up = thank God
Same fence he fell at last time, hope they campaign him elsewhere in future

Very happy for the old warrior Mr McG and for Sue and Harvey Smith in their northern fastness :D
Also great for Dom Elsworth - yet another first time winning jock a tthe festival this year

I've followed Mr McG for years and he's one of my favourite horses in training, he's a fabulous old boy. However there's no way I saw that coming today! I wish I'd had a pound on for old times sake.

Glad Don't Push It got up.
