I've been since 1990 and today, with the new stand, I think the course is out of this world....brilliant!

It's fab isn't it - it wasn't fully finished when I last went ( April meeting last year!) but everything has been really brilliantly set out and planned ( IMO) as a race goer I love it all, as a woman I'm thrilled with the amount of loos we now have (!) and as a parent, it's my favourite place to take a child so far, it's got it all now.

I feel Annual Members have lost out.

Why? I'm a Member and I think the new bar and steppings available to us on the 1st floor of the new stand is far superior to what we had before...that crowded marquee on the roof of the old Tote building, then a climb up to the somewhat rickety and exposed temporary stand.

Of course there are many Members who are still prepared to stump up an extra £50 a day for entrance to the Insurance Bar and a reserved seat (on top of their annual £350 membership charge), but I always considered that naked profiteering on the part of Cheltenham Racecourse, so not for me.

I was impressed we kept the Insurance Bar - some more grasping courses would have told us we were lucky with the new facility and turned that into more corporate boxes .

I must admit i think that the Big bucks Champagne bar should also be members only, meaning we get the whole floor.
