I'm gradually getting into the festive spirit but there's no decorations anywhere. Very boring.

What should I put up? I'm kinda thinking of a Cheltenham Tree but what sort of tree and decorations would be suitable?

In recent days, I have been thinking back to the thread last year we had about songs for the leading contenders - and singing them as Cheltenham Carols.

My favourite is "Baracouda" (to the tune of The Messiah).

Join in everyone.....

Baaaaaaracouda, Baracouda, Baracouda

Or Cheltenham Crackers with Anadin, little bookies' pencils and jokes about Thommo inside?

A picture of Hen behind the tree?
Be careful man! We don't want to risk the future health of the tree by placing too many baubles on it. Obviously putting too much weight on the tree would have a devestating effect on its future career.

Maybe we could wrap the tree in cotton wool and only put it out on the warn days during the Cheltenahm festival to a maximum of 3 days??

But it's a Cheltenham Tree!

You're more likely to have the tree turn up on the day fully decorated, when the trainer had said the needles were falling off and it had fallen out of the bucket.

I was working on a version of The Twelve Days Of Christmas to be called - unsurprisingly - The Twelve Days Of Cheltenham, but when I got to the bit about Hen's a-laying I worried about a Jockey Club betting pattern investigation...

Maurice and Ardoss's tree is getting old and withered and has not grown in the last two years. He blames the heating, watering, earths atmosphere etc for its demise.....

Myself, Bobbyjoe and Garney have a top class tree but it keeps bloody falling over. Garney howver insists it was brought down or slipped.....
