I got my first Christmas card through the post today!! :D Well, I'd already had one form a colleague & two e-christmas cards; one from my aunt & uncle who I haven't seen in around 5 yrs asking me to go & visit them next time I'm in the UK - yeah right!!! LIke I don't have enough people to see!!! I spend all my time in the UK chasing around from one person to another & still go home regretting not catching up with a lot of people I wish I'd had time to fit in. Anyhow, thank you Granny & Grandpa - the card is now on display in the flat, on the bookshelves amidst a lot of books & even more dust. I was especially chuffed to get this card as I moved flat over 2 months ago but didn't get around to telling anyone what my new address was until 3 days ago - hence this was also my first piece of post to my new flat!!!! :D

We have had 45 cards thus far from the USA, We have of course sent more than this number across the Atlantic :D
What we have noticed is that the American postal system is quicker compared to ours, cards posted in the states arrive at our home in days, cards we send to America can take up to ten days to arrive at their destination

Also had this E-card today, it was sent by the breeder we bought one of our parrots from, thought you might like to see it. It's interactive with sound.

I've had 47,829 mailed cards so far, and 101,963 by e-mail. Harrods produced my personalized card this year, which was drawn for me by my close friend, Damien Hirst. I've sent out around 145,000 to date. (This IS the 'Who's Had the Most?' boasting comp, right?)

No offence Mark, but we had in-depth discussions last year about how terrible the Jacquie Lawson cards are - so very twee, nauseating & American!!

Speaking from experience, I can tell you that there is no way in which the US postal system to overseas countries is superior to ours mailing to the US.

I can only speak from personal experience Brian, Our letters/cards etc have taken longer to reach The USA than those sent from the States to reach here, maybe the staff at our local Post office are not as efficient as others, trouble with flights at Birmingham airport etc I dont know Brian, I would not dispute what you have posted I can only tell you of our experience but in the end all that really matters is that our cards/letters have reached their destination. :D
