We will all be enjoying Kempton on Thursday but with a lot of decent looking cards on the same day and on Friday and a few days to get stuck into the form there should be some nice bets to be had this week.

Any suggestions so far folks?

I'm on Cue Card and Al Ferof ante-post in the King George and might add Menorah each way.

I think Baily Green might be worth a look in the Dial-a-Bet on Friday.

The first race at Kempton is a very interesting event. I think Dubai Prince will be too short and will take him on if he is with Sgt Reckless or the Nick Williams entrant.

Other bets this week will be in Ireland on Sat/Sun. First Lieutenant, Jezki and Morning Assembly.

A big treble of Felix Younger, Anafielt & Champange Fever. Hard to see any of them beaten.

Dynaste at 9/2. MTOY at 6/5.

Sedgefield, Boxing Day

12:10 Heath Hunter
12:40 Downtown Boy
1:55 Oscar Tanner

I think Valdez at Kempton on the 27th will be difficult to beat.

Sizing Europe and First Lieutenant double.

Very keen on FL and as every hour ticks by I'm considering a heavy bet. 5's is just too big, especially with question marks over the front 2 in the market.

Much depends on the ground, so I'll be taking each day as it comes.
No worse than soft on Boxing Day, I'll be all guns blazing MTOY (as, so it seems, will the majority of Western Europe). If it comes up a bog, then I'd take Silviniaco C to reverse Haydock form with Cue Card.

Eddie Harty has an interesting Down Royal runner in Better Hand.
A 46K Derby Sale purchase last year by Old Vic ex Gildoran mare he was sent straight over fences. No flat or bumper run is unorthodox for an EPH horse.
Off 94 rating he is either slow as a boat without a sail or a shoe in.

I've come around to Silviniano Conti and will have to have a bet on The New One.

Won't put you off the old warrior but would have ground concerns over the GiGi

What ground are we likely to be looking at granger?

While I appreciate FL is a better horse on better ground, I believe he'll handle Soft. He could/should have won last years renewal on Soft. Worse than that would make it a tough ask, I agree.

Soft according to officials this morning. Rain due on Friday.

Don't imagine DR will be getting off SDC.

Milo Man 12.10 Sedge
Anafilet, Champagne, Felix Yonger treble
Windsor Park 3.30 Leop
Tammy's Hill 1.30 Down Royal

That concludes the Stephens' Day money making enterprise!

2 days of form study have yielded a long list of bets that's been filtered down to-

Champagne West 2.15 Wincanton
Opening mark of 122 looks fair after some very smart novice hurdle form, The Nicholls horse looks a danger but has to give a stone and a half to CW here which could be tough.
Lifetime 1.10 Wetherby
Up in trip to 2 1/2 miles after staying on well in 3rd behind a couple of next time out winners recently at the course over 2 miles.
Silver Dragon 1.00 Market Rasen
Still looking well handicapped with the form of his last 2 runs working out very well.
Calculated Risk 1.55 Sedgfield
Has been plying his trade in higher class races and running very respectably and this drop in class should be a very good chance to get his head in front.

Couldn't see Dr getting off for sure. But he didn't get off last year either. I wouldn't bat an eyelid at that. So long as it's no worse than Soft, Soft to Heavy in places I'm ready to go to war.

Happy with that

Hartside 3.15 Leicester
Won at Wetherby off 109 last month and has 3 respectable runs since off 116 the last one coming over 2m at Haydock finishing a length 2nd to the well handicapped leviathan, Jockey continues to take off 7lb and should go close again.
The danger should be the Dr Newland trained favourite under a penalty.
