I found Consumer Fraud Reporting when I wanted to check out the details of three 'you have won!!!!' "promotions" I received this week. They're all scams, since they either ask me to phone premium-rate numbers or part with £14.95 for "administrative fees" before sending me a cheque for £2,500. CFR is really extensive, free to use, and wants to hear if you have had attempts at scamming. All our old chums are listed - the desperate Nigerian widow of a brutally-assassinated minister, who will part with half her wealth if you'll only give her your bank account number, and so on.

I think everyone on here is probably clued-up enough about scams and frauds, but there are extensive lists provided by CFR of the names being used for lottery, prize win, charity and all the other scams and frauds you could possibly think of. Worth checking for yourselves or anyone you know, delighted to find they've won £10K in a draw they never took part in. (Oh, yes, the Prize Notification & Award Office in The Netherlands is a crock o'crap, as is the usefully-provided UK Complaints & Compliance Service, Unit 101, 34 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 0RH (sic).) ;)

If you do get any such nonsense and want to report it, CFR would like to hear via e-mail on CFR2008A@ConsumerFraudReporting.org so that it can add it to its very long lists.
