Did anyone watch the The Boat Race live yesterday?

ITV had a special Cox-Cam in the boats and went live in running to hear how one of the cox's (I forget which one) was motivating his troops - just as he was saying....

"We're going to f***ing attack this"

Today's Times points out how shocking it is to hear such an educated fellow...





















...split an infinitive!

"To f**king attack this we are going" sounds much more educated.

Well it seems a bit harsh to criticise them, after all they may not know a split infinitive when they see one...
