I've long been a fan of this station which went National last week, having been a Dublin station for about 4 years. If I can recommend the Montcrief show from 2-4.30 pm, and the sports show from 7-10 each night. Especially about 8.30 on Thursdays when you can hear some excellent journalism.

Anyway - they have added a new show from 7-9pm on Sundays on history topics. Tonight the proposition was that Cromwell was the most despised figure in Irish history. It was inconclusive. Some texts suggested De Valera and Steve Staunton as worthy opponents.

Hear it here..http://www.newstalk.ie/

I would have thought De Valera won hands down for being In Charge :) Don't you know it could be a different story ?

What about yer man - the viking [self styled] king of Dublin who went against Brian Boru? Got to be a baddie in a few books I'm sure! Or does it depend what camp you're in?

Well said Gareth on Kieft. Then again he didnt burn churches of surrendering 'patriots'. Tough to top Cromwell. John Charles McQuaid would be the each way selection.
