Cryptic Clue To Bands

I have reported the above thread as a personal attack on me if I had posted it there would be all hell unleashed it must apply to all posters on here not just a selected few..........and the poster warned to his future conduct too...... thanks
 
Diamond Geezer was saying that the name Merlin The Magician is a cryptic clue for Roy Wood's band Wizard.

Merlin, I'm not sure what on earth you are complaining about?
 
its not the first time the same poster has put on snide remarks but I have let them go over my head ........

If there's going to be rules on here they must apply to all posters, simple really...
 
For heaven's sake - read the whole thread, which is about cryptic clues to band names. Diamond Geezer isn't responding to another posting, he is replying to my question about which of the user names on here is a clue to a band.

Apart from the fact that the word "womble" had nothing to do with his posting, my view would be that a cuddly, furry creature was not a term of abuse anyway, but that's a subjective opinion and, indeed, an irrelevance.

I have never known a group of people so ready to see harm where there is none, and that's a fact. Here's how I saw the thread's meaning:

BrianH: "Dark Sunday" = "Black Sabbath, "Scrounge a baby cooing" = "Kadjagoogoo" etc. Can't get "Japanese Crash" - any ideas?

Maurice: The Clash?

BrianH: Of course it is! Though there is a heavy metal band called Kamikaze...

Diamond Geezer: Is one of our members one of the cryptic clues ?

I was about to get back on and post “Wizard” when I received three referring emails of complaint – and I had no idea what was being complained about!
 
its not your fault DIM.... its the comments and finger pointing that comes after, if the boot was on the other foot I would have had a bollicking or had my thread deleted...........
 
oh if that be the case I'LL convey an apology but while one don't comment on other snide remarks (and has stated you let them go over your head and the poster posts what I thought related to a another snide remark) I thought ho its about time I responded back in the correct manner, not got into a slanging match) personal attack.... obviuosly a mistake on my part please accept my apologies.....
 
Sorry DIMINUENDO was as stated a cryptic mistake....... but their all on WIMBLEDON COMMON.............. :rolleyes: :D :D


P.S. I am as stated doing it by the book in future not getting involved in any slanging matches or arguments if something offends me and his outside the boards parameters I will lodge a complaint and ask for a S/I...........

I can take a joke like most people ................................ :D

Well as stated yes I conceeded that point and yes I believe you it was a mistake and I conveyed my apologies too....

still you persist in making personal remarks... no I don't have any chips on either of my shoulders?..... but aint taking any snide remarks off you mate.... just so has you know where you stand in future?........are you aware what you are saying?

well if it was posted by someone else I would not have responded in the way I did
