A Wathnan Racing owned son of Frankel, out of a Group 2 winning former Andre Fabre trained mare. Damysus cost 460,000 Gns as a yearling and went a tiny way of repaying some of that purchase price when taking a novices event over seven furlongs at Southwell in December on his only outing of 2024. The form of that race may not be the strongest in depth, but he won in fair style and with more in hand than the two and a half lengths winning margin suggested. It’s difficult at this stage to say what level he may reach, but it will be disappointing if he doesn’t win a nice race or two over the course of the season. Damysus should stay around a mile and a quarter with a little more experience behind him, and should prove equally adaptable to turf and an artificial surface.
