So who actually watches this?

Must be millions, I suppose or BBC2 wouldn't give it so much air-time but puleeze.... watching paint dry is more interesting.....
 
My b/f is glued & it is sooooooooooooooooooooo boring! You are right about the paint.
 
Jocky Wilson (a retired darts player) actually won 'Sports personality of the year' one year I seem to remember. Very funny... couldn't see how he qualified in either the 'sports' or 'personality' categories myself.

...maybe he was just nominated.

However, even though he's retired I hear he gets at least a bucket of feed a day. :lol:
 
One of my housemates love darts, but thankfully I got him to turn it over when it was on last night :P . Can't quite see the appeal myelf.
 
Argh, the sodding arrers! A lot of the boys in the office are into it for some strange reason - I agree that I'd rather watch paint dry. Steve is spot on too - what on earth constitutes it being a sport? Unless of course, the lifting of the pint glass to the mouth is a form of pre-training the arrers-throwing arm....

It was certainly good fun for those who knew beforehand that the Anderson v Robson match was fixed.

I hope for his sake that Honest Tom doesn't bet on darts. The feeble (so-called) enquiry by The BDO made The Jockey Club look as ruthless as the SS.

I quite enjoy watching the darts, especially as it allows me to annoy Mrs Relkeel by shouting out the scores like the referee, but incidents this week have left a sour taste in my mouth.
 
Heard they are trying to get it recognised for the London olymics. Dont know why it doesnt qualify as a sport really.

Its not a sport now, but it was in the days when pints were stacked up on the stage, and the bookies were betting on who'd go though the most in one match. :lol:

That said i love darts esp the world match play at the winter gardens Blackpool (might even go this yr, £100 for a season ticket), and i can even beat my missus at a game of round the board. ;)
 
That was a real tragedy the other night, when the guy was going for a 130-finish.

His first dart lands in double-tops, then so does his second. His third is heading straight for the bull but bounces off the wire and lodges in the head of a chap wearing a Rangers scarf, killing him instantly.

The commentator cried: One hun dead and eighty!
