Rather than have people wade through the other thread for the discussion, does anyone know for certain the situation regarding Jacob's riding arrangement.

My understanding is he rides firstly for the Bishops then the Munir-Souede partnership.

So, come the Triumph Hurdle, if the Bishops have a runner he'll be required for that, leaving Geraghty with the Peace And Co option.

If the Bishops don't have a runner, Jacob will have the choice of the M-S runners in the race, regardless of Barry Geraghty's position as stable jockey.

Is this this correct?

The first part is definitely correct (Bishops take priority over Munir/Soude) but thought I read that then, the stable jockey would have first pick. Sorry, but can’t remember where I read it though...

The booking of either Jacob or Geraghty wouldn't worry me if I fancied a horse Mo, Jacob is riding really well

It isn't a worry, DG. I'm just trying to clear up a mild difference of understanding with Tanlic.

Quite simple to work out if he has or hasn't but I assure you he does not when there is a stable jockey involved.

The only reason he got to ride Peace and Co at Donnie was because Barry was at Cheltenham. He rode one in the big race of the day and Vaniteux when he was 2nd to The New One

Add to that he's never as much as sat on L'ami Serge or Vyta Du Roc and the same goes for David Pipe trained Ainsi Fideles, Scu

He got the ride on Top Notch last time because Barry was at Ascot riding in the Betfair.

His title for what it's worth is 2nd retained jockey.

Despite riding for lots of different people on some real rags at times he's got a much better strike rate than Twiston Davies who for me is 2nd rate.......huge mistake by PN in my book

Could it be that Barry went to Newbury that day because Jacob had the ride on Top Notch? Barry wasn't down to ride a Munir-Souede horse in the Betfair. He was down to ride SOAV and switched to VDR when SOAV came out.

Scu was on AF last week while Jacob was at Haydock riding Top Notch for the owners.

No DO, think about trials day, Geraghty rode Peace and Co, Jacob also rode at Cheltenham but because BG is stable jock, he has first dibs.

He'd be stone mad not to have ridden L'Ami and Peace an Co in all their races if he could have.

If you google it I think there's a story in one of the daily's which explains the situation clearly.

Here you go found this on RUK

Daryl Jacob makes his return from injury tomorrow on Top Notch in the Betfred 'Six Best Odds Races Daily' Victor Ludorum Juvenile Hurdle at Haydock.
Jacob has not ridden since being brought down at Exeter last Sunday, when he suffered a problem with his knee.
He rode out for the first time on Friday at Nicky Henderson's yard and felt no adverse reaction, so he is looking forward to riding the unbeaten Top Notch for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, who call on his services when stable jockeys are unavailable.
