O'Meara has earned his reputation with older horses, often cast-offs, but the tide appears to be turning.

He had twelve juveniles listed in Horses In Training two years ago, fourteen last year and there are nineteen this time round plus, I suspect, more to come from the breeze-ups.

The average purchase price is increasing, too, and he has this season sent out two two-year-olds so far and both have won.

Coolfitch, who cost 58k euros as a foal, won ten days ago at Ripon. Hoyamy, a £58k yearling, won quite impressively at Donny last night, beating a well-backed Godolphin newcomer.

A trend to note, I think.

Hopefully it's not a case of the tide turning but that he's adding to his already successful methods.

Well noticed though Gus he's a trainer going places but many would say he's already there having topped 100 winner for the past 3 years

Colin says well Spotted.... Me says at same time well Noticed...............what have I told you about you using that crystal ball Harry Potter gave you Colin:lol:

I think he's a good trainer and his 2yo winner on Saturday looked good.

He's got a bit of a reputation for doing well with previously disappointing horses. That can be a double-edged sword and I hope owners don't expect silk purses. He's been sent Talent's sister Forte, who was allegedly said by Becket to have as much ability as her sister. But she's as headstrong as anything and it will be a marvel if the trainer can get more out of her: good luck to him.
