Only 5 declared but Sprinter due to face a resurgent SDG , Vibrato Valtat and Somersby .

Sprinter is 1-2 ante post - sounds like the vibes for the old boy are good. !

I hope he wins but agreed an insane price. With all the action over those 4 days he's probably only the lay of the day.

That jump 3 or 4 out in the Sholer shows something near the real Sprinter is back. The big black aeroplane. The best 2 miler there ever was.

I'll be going again at 4/1 for the champion chase before Sunday. That'll all be gone come Sunday night.

the best 2 milers compete in the Champion Hurdle, thats why Flyingbolt attempted to conquer it in 1966 and only placed 3rd after winning the Champion Chase by a dozen lengths at the same festival. Thats why UDS was sent chasing instead of CH route. Etc.. Back to SS, he's past his prime and we haven't seen enough evidence to reflect that short of a price but I do have hope in him hence why I was among the few to enter him in the Talking Horses AP competition at double odds..

I really don't know what people expect from the horse.

What many people don't know is the problem Sprinter Sacre had actually heals itself in time.

Obviously last year he wasn't completely over it but the signs are that he is on his way back to his very best.

Not the best around but he's taken on 2 very decent animals in Somersby who loves Cheltenham and the very talented Simply Ned who was fresh from giving 2 stone to the runner up in his latest win at Kelso.

The way he disposed of them it wouldn't much matter what else had run that day they would ave been hard to cope with his gear change at the top of the hill.

Ok he tired a bit but when asked to pick up again and put 14 lengths between him and the QMCC runner up.

That was not the performance of a sick horse like we saw last season that was much closer to Sprinter at his best.

He's 1.57 last I looked so if anyone is stupid enough to lay him at bigger prices I can see them regretting it big time.

I do hope Sire De Grugy runs up to his best and finsihes well in front of the 3rd horse and Sprinter beats him by a fence.

Might shut the doubters up

Flying Bolt went for the Champion Hurdle because they believed he had taken nothing out of himself in the CC a race he was 1/5 fav for.

He had the form to win a Champion Hurdle having won the Irsh Champion Hurdle and the Supreme I believe.

As far as the best 2 milers go you bamboozle me

Chasers are Chaser and hurdlers are hurdlers they are bred differently and very few can mix the two in later life

Can just imagine little Katchit, Istabraq, Kribensis or even Hurricane Fly trying to jump a fence......

no..he's no good left handed though..forgot that

i'm happy enough..he beat a horse today that most of the forum thought was the better horse..whilst i keep reading them like that i'm happy

I think SDG is pretty much back to close to his best hence although Sprinter Sacre was in trouble two out his jumping got him out of it - de Boinville looked as if he was a bit cautious - perhaps after that lousy ride he gave Vaniteux.

Sprinter will be better at Cheltenham and there is always the possibility that UDS will end up on the floor .

Vautour I suspect would win the Champion.

I made sure if my pal Sprinter won today he would owe me nothing no matter what happens in March so I will let the dosh ride no matter what.

UDS is the rightful favourite on a line through VV and on a line through Somersby was again about 14 lengths behind Spinter Sacre and Sire De Grugy.
To be honest I am surprised at how much guts Sprinter showed today as he was never travelling as well as he can and his high cruising speed mid race was missing.

NJH has done wonders to get him back and I'm sure he still has a bit up his sleeve as the plan has always been to work backwards from the QMCC.
I would certainly be hopeful Cheltenham would be more in Sprinters favour than Kempton was today
Don't know what the plan is now but I would imagine we won't see him again until March to give NJH the time to get him 110% right for the biggest challenge of his career..

Nice Horse Ar Mad but but didn't Vaniteux toss the race away when making a bad mistake and he went from cantering to having to be pushed into the lead?

He looked well beat Ar Mad and did well to get up again but it looked 50/50 one was advancing and the other one stopping to me.

I know which one I'd want to be on when they hit the rising-ground in the Arkle.......and it isn't Vaniteaux.

Douvan will be unstoppable by that stage though.

Biggest certainty since Sprinter himself Grassy I can't see anything to touch him....MTOY over fences would have been interesting but there's simply nothing else around in his class
