Bunker 's form looks better after the Lagardere winner today .

Kingman no doubt will be favourite even with GWE and Berkshire in the field . I understood Berkshire was expected to be put away after the Royal Lodge.

What's the problem with Kingman ? I missed any stories about it in the press.

In Sunday's Post: "Kingman will not run again this season after suffering a setback....Teddy Grimthorpe said the early indications were the problem was not serious and the hope remains the issue does not derail the Classic ambitions held for the much-hyped colt. 'He's had a bit of a setback...we're assessing it at the moment but as far as we can tell he's going to be okay for next year.'"

It's a pity. The Dewhurst would have been a lot more informative with him in it.

Thanks . Fingers crossed for them but I recall the Hannons saying something similar about Harbour Watch and he was never able to run again.

I think having the Middle park and Dewhurst on the same day is just foolish . Superb piece by Down in the RP today about the marketing men who are mangling the sport.

they should put the Middle Park and Chevely Park 2 weeks ago

and the Fillies Mile in the same day of the Dewhurst, also could be good the fillies mile down to 7f.

I think Champions Day whilst a good thing in itself has caused a complete mess to arise in the rest of the end of season action . The horse trading of races between Ascot and Newmarket has left an unbalanced mucked up end.

Future Champions Day should be scrapped and the races spread out as in the past .

the middle park should be moved back and the fillies mile moved to future champions day

champions day is a good day and has been reasonably successful so far with fair crowds (as opposed to the numbers attending future champions day) this years maybe the acid test with no outright stars amongst the cast and the weather forecast being dire it may be like a typical winters national hunt meeting as opposed to the previous meetings it will be interesting to see how the attendance figure stands up

great idea next year to have the two days together haven't the organisers ever driven round the M25 on a Friday evening.

if they want to make a champions festival one track should hold both days they could swap ascot one year Newmarket the next similar to how the Bc operates

I think Newmarket should not have so many spread out Saturdays in September and October . The Cambridgeshire and Houghton meetings should be restored to their proper length and the race planners should look at what gaps there are for horses in the calendar that could be filled to beef up those meetings.
