Well that was very disappointing. She opened at 9/4 where I took a bit more, but it was disconcerting that she didn’t strengthen further and retreated back to 11/4 in the end.
As for the race itself she never looked comfortable and when she lost her action Jamie Spencer stopped riding and walked her in.
in touch, pushed along halfway, hung left and lost action 2f out, heavily eased
Following the race, Jamie Spencer reported that RED POPPY, placed sixth, hung badly left and the representative of Charlie Fellowes reported that the filly was unsuited by the Good to Firm going on this occasion. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
I’ll giver her another chance, but I doubt it will be for full stakes.
