Do bookies not want ew antepost multiples?

In the last few days I've been knocked back several times on-line when trying to do some low value ew multiples for Cheltenham in March. Almost from the time I started going to the Festival I've done a number of multiples often adjusting stakes so that potential winnings would be within limits.

Many is the time that I have had yankees/Canadians/etc that if all selections were to win then returns would be middle to high six figures. Now trying a £20 ew double I get told either stake is invalid or maximum stake is £0.00.

I've always thought that multiples produced higher margins for bookies. What's changed?

I used to do a bet until the local bookie asked me not to place any more of this type of bet. Even the big bookies definitely hate them. Similar to a place pot but the liabilities can be huge,,,,,,,,eg 3 x 2 x 1 x 2 x 3 = 36 bts @ 10pts Acc

If a couple of better priced horse you chose win for you say 10/1 4/1 2/1 8/1= 14,850 pts going on to 3 different horses and at least one of those would sure be double figures

Very scary bet for a small bookmaker. I don't know about the sportsbook but on your everyday Betfair they don't take the bet in it's natural form.......if for example you have 3 horses in the first race and one wins at 4/1 they treat the 3 horses as a dutch bet and you might have 1.37 winner unless you want to work out the accies and do them separately......

Looks like your accounts have simply been restricted or you are using Micky Mouse firms with tiny limits.

Maybe quite the opposite

In your case the most likely reason is the work load of monitoring your bets against possible profits and the high risk factor should some crazy bet come up.

You create too much work with small bets it's not worth their while and you are gone plain and simple

Are you trying to back one per race or combinations as suggested in Tanlic's post.

This is a side issue as I find it impossible to back combination multiples online. I have to separate them all (by checking and unchecking the little boxes at oddschecker's bet basket facility), which takes aaaaaaaages.

Of the bookies that normally let me bet only Coral tends to 'refer the bet to a trader' and they've been letting me on again lately, probably a reflection of my current moderate form.

PS - let me know what you're trying to back and I'll see if they accept it from me

I've had problems in the past, but I tend to spread them across all my accounts alongside my other bets.

I've no doubt if I focused all my multiples with one they'd probably either restrict me or close me.
