Difficult to believe I couldn’t find anything to back today. Three trackers but two in same race (so no go) and one heavy odds on. Content to watch what turned out to be some scintillating racing.
First up the Class 2 Weatherbys Scientific £200,000 2 Y O Stakes. The market called it with the first three in the betting finishing in a heap leaving the rest of the field for dead. The take out horse for me was Jazz Club who finished 3rd a neck and 3/4l behind giving the first two 5lbs. He was very green in his debut race, but caught on a couple of furlongs out and finished strongly into third. He then made all and finished strongly in a Class 4 at Windsor.
In this, much up in class and very much the poorer on OR (RPR had him right, though) he was very keen and raced strongly in the lead until headed inside the final furlong. He didn’t concede easily.
Next up was May Hill Stakes (Group 2) and although it wasn’t a strong field Inspiraldestroyed them in a couple of strides to win by 4 lengths eased up. Very impressive and a worthy Guineas favourite.
On to the next, the Park Hill Fillies' Stakes (Group 2) where Free Wind was equally impressive with her 7 length win.
What a triumvirate, wow!
