Off to Doncaster for the first time on Saturday. What's the view and parade ring access like from the Grandstand Enclosure? Is it the extra £20 worth it for the Country Enclosure?

Thanks jinny - looking at that I'm wondering what the extra £20 gets you besides a stricter dress code!

I was there on a Thursday night, and had a great view and lots of space. It is a good track to watch an Ollie Pears hotshot bolt up at, but the new facilities are very soul-less.

Arkwright will be the expert on whether it is a waste of money to pony up extra dosh.

I was there for the big January handicap chase about 15 years ago-very enjoyable-Saturday could be completely mental.

You definitely want to pay the extra score, if only to avoid the pissed up local plebs in the Grandstand. :)

I'm goin Saturday and have got County tickets, mostly because I assumed it would be sold out and completely packed.

It is now absurdly expensive in the County Enclosure so I shall be with the plebs . The Grandstand view is adequate . I agree with Barry , the old stand may have been rather dowdy and municipal but it had character - a bit like the old Rowley Mile stand - the new stand is soulless in the extreme although at least it is not entirely like a large Wetherspoons like Newmarket.
