I'm not usually into doubles but I sometimes have a stab at these valuable 2yo races as they're not as competitive as the numbers suggest, so...

3 w dbls; 1 ew trb

9 x 1pt win doubles – David Pipe’s stable sponsors are sponsoring most of the races at this meeting today. None of the runners look to have great chances but the money will normally tell you. Prices are the best available at time of posting.

Sea Lord (5/6)
Rock On Ruby (2/1)

The betting forecast earlier was 30/100 Sea Lord. Short shots aren't my thing but I can see plenty of big hitters fancying the 5/6 or even shorter.

Rock On Ruby has a higher OR, RPR and TS rating than The New One yet the latter is favourite, presumably based on what he might be or how much he might have improved from last season but I suspect ROR will be straighter this time than on his seasonal debut as they probably know he can't win another Champion. I reckon the betting is the wrong way round so the 2/1 must be value. Again, it isn't my type of bet but doubling them at 5/6 and 2/1 pays 9/2 about what should, I reckon, be a less-than-3/1 risk.

Certainly worth a pop, I reckon.
