Dragonflies

Pointing finished for the day at the 'Barn', myself and my wife sat out with a lager around my brother's pond. I was watching anumber of dragonflies buzzing around trying to find mates and there were two types, reds and blues.

My wife asked a question about whether blues and reds inter-mate, so we sat watching and it appeared that blues mated with blues and reds with reds.

Anyone know if this is a correct conclusion!

Dragonflies are very territorial, so I would guess that you were actually witnessing damselflies in numbers?
