Dragons' Den

Its crying out for a follow up of what happened to the projects from the earlier series. I was going to make a sarcastic comment about a missing dragon, but thought better of it :P

I am pretty shocked at how bad some of the ideas and unimpressive the people behind them are, but then:

1. Who in their right mind, with a sound idea, would tart themselves in front of the cameras?

2. The BBC must love some of the lunatic ideas that the Dragons take apart.

"Dragons' Den, best programme on tele at the moment"
With the exception of a programme that's on E4 an hour after Dragons' Den finishes.

What I can't believe is the number of applicants who haven't prepared any information about the proposition they are selling.

I liked the guy who when asked what profit after 5 years would be, responded "a few million".

Can't believe how much that Aussie guy is splashing his cash around.

That Dr Cap thing with those 2 lads was shocking as well, can't believe they got an investment.

The "Aussie guy", Richard Farleigh is a very interesting person. I would not mind reading his book because a lot of his business practice could be applied to betting. He likes to back products which can have a volatile effect on the market. A bit like knowing when one of Honest Tom's list of bent trainers have one thats off.

Great tonight - talk about 'knives out'! Having one Dragon pull the carpet out from another was great fun, and then to have the third (the woman with a background in 'the leisure industry') insert herself into the deal was hilarious! Anyway, the two bright guys with the chip which counts what's gone through slot machines now have two partners on board, one with specific leisure industry expertise, and £200,000. Plus, they only gave up 25% of their company - 5% better than what they'd have been prepared to go with. Champagne moment, or what?

Watched other stuff, Homer, though it was a toss-up what. Were there some success stories - people giving the Dragons the finger, etc.? :)
