First thing I do is to check what’s happened to the overnight prices of the horses that I’m likely to be interested in on the assumption (rightly or wrongly) that if they are ready to rock the early price would be snapped up pretty fast.

Today I’ve got nothing but drifters and only Fringill Dike - 4:25 Doncaster - who has strengthened and then not much at 7/2 atm from 11/2 overnight. I don’t really fancy him up against Prairie Wolf who I think is a good favourite, but may have a nibble.

I’ve been quite impressed by Aubis Walk - 2:40 Doncaster - but I think a jump into Listed is a step too far for her. They are probably after a bit of black type, so I doubt winning is first in mind. Interested to see how she gets on, though.

Really impressed by Dargiannini -2:10 Newbury - by hi win at Uttoxeter last time (although so was I impressed by Sholojack who has just let me down at Kelso!).

The only other one is Henderson’s Gipsy de Choisel who is a tender flower, but with talent if clear of troubles. I had a starter last night, but disappointed to that he’s been on the drift - 8/1 from 4/1 so I ought to be cashing out. I won’t though.

Did both Prairie Wolf and Fringill Dike the end - short head 2nd and 3rd though.

Aubis Walk was withdrawn, but Dargiannini didn’t let me down as Sholojack had and pretty much paid for the day’s fun.

The market called Gipsy De Choisel - never being able to bring myself to cash out on the drift has cost me again. I’ll never learn.
