They make me cringe to the point of recording the morning line and whizzing past them.
I suppose advertising Dubai along the same lines as 'Disney-Paris' or better still 'Weekend breaks in Blackpool' (love the place, myself!) might annoy some of the billionaire investors.

The fact that they can exist at all is what's amazing. Put them in the context of one of the most, uh, 'conservative' places on Earth, and ditzy glitzy girlies in revealing dresses travelling alone in taxis is an eye-opener.
"Little did Mylene realise that a taxi journey would end five miles into the desert, being groped by a driver with kebab breath and a tatty beard" would probably be closer to the truth.
