My wife and I settled down to watch Gavin and Stacey at around half past eight last night, after consuming a spinach and potato curry washed down with a pint of milk (my wife) and a bottle of stout (me).

The DVD played, but the sound didn't work.

So after fiddling around with the wires for about two minutes, I gave up.

What could it be? The little fella has started crawling, so he might have been acting the bollix with the wires, but I unplugged everything and replugged, so it might not be that.

Its actually a silent film Bar, Like Chaplin used to do. Easy mistake to make.

In all seriousness, most probably is a loose wire somewhere, it generally is in our house, and the culpret is normally someone under 3! Other than that i wouldnt have a notion, did you try a different DVD?

Make sure both Scarts are plugged in all the way.

If there's still a problem, try plugging your DVD player directly into your TV in case it's a problem with the NTL box not passing on the signal properly.

I'll try the latter, thanks.

I think I tried the former last night, but I will try again.

Incidentally, the NTL box sound is passing through to the telly grand.

I am not very good at things like this, as I get frustrated and see my lack of a solution as a reflection on my masculinity and penile length.

If having tried the above pull the plug out of the NTL BOX and leave it out for ten minutes then plug it back in, they do lock up occasionally this is a way of unlocking them................

Don't get to COCKY BTB...............

:D I can sympathise with that! :D

Onion
Garlic

fried up with olive oil

Cayenne Pepper
Cumin
Ground Coriander

added into the mix and fried for another couple of minutes.

Add preboiled potatoes. Fry for another few minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes. Simmer for six or seven minutes.

Add chopped coriander and spinach. Cook for five minutes.

Serve with a glass of milk.

Don't knock it until you try it.

Spinach and potato curry is one of my favourites, great for using up left over boiled spuds, and it's especially good with spiced up stir-fried chicken or prawns [try those little jars of tandoori spice or jalfrezi they sell in good grocery stores] - and with grilled mackerel, oddly enough
