Ear Muffs for Skull Caps ?

I've noticed several jockeys recently wearing what looks to be extra thick padding around the ear harness straps of their skull cap.

Looks more comfortable and warmer than the standard leather harness, particularly on these cold winter days, and tho' I've tried to find more out about them I've drawn a blank.

Anyone know more ?

While forum members are considering this, does Ruby have some extra padding under the back of his helmet? Just spotted it the other week at the races and doesn't seem to be the norm with other jocks.

Thanks Shads, any chance you can let me know any saddlers who keep them, or will even know what I'm talking about. Have tried the usual suspects (tho' not specialist racing saddlers) but seem to be unheard of up here.

I just ordered a pair online from Gibsons Saddlers in Newmarket a few weeks ago.Couldn't find any in shops over here and the ones they sent are nice and neat not as bulky as the ones the flat jockeys wear at Deauville here, they cost about £20 I think
