A post brought on by watching Travis Block WIN the Haydock 4.10 yesterday on Fervent Prince.

For those that didn't see the race or are not aware of what happened, after taking it up inside the last couple of furlongs the rider eased the horse down inside the last 50? yards and the horse managed to hold on to win by a head.

The easing down was totally unnecessary and you have to ask the question what the hell was in Block's head.

I don't know if the stewards had a word but I feel that they should have, and that Block should have had his wrist slapped.

I would also hope that Hughie Morrison gave him a right bollocking and, yes, I am talking through my pocket! :shy:

They will never stop it until easing brings a ban regardless of whether the result changed. The rule as it stands is like making drunk driving a crime only if you cause an accident.
