First off. Great to see Caspian Prince going for the four timer!

A race that has had its fair share of lightly weighted winners and higher rated ones' down the years.

After watching SHAMSHON run over six furlongs at Goodwood this afternoon, where he was immensely unlucky not to get any luck in running, I'm only wishing he was a few pounds higher in the handicap, to ensure he would get a run, in the fastest five furlongs anywhere in the world.

The maximum field size is 20. He sits at number 33 on the list, so needs 13 to come out. He's slipped down the weights, for a few poor runs on a mark of 80 now, which judging by the last several renewals, won't be enough to make the cut!

Having said that, no bookie is laying more than 25/1, which may mean it's closer than the bare statistics would have me believe.

Shamshon is a very talented horse on his day. He's won some nice prizes down the years. I think he's ready for this race.

He beat two subsequent winners, A Momentofmadness and Soie D'leau at Newmarket last year. He's a lot better off at the weights with those entries.

Opinions welcome. :)

I l9ve the epsom dash and look forward to it.i agree with you about shamson and must have a good chance if he gets in.
Another i like is Dark shot who was unlucky last year.but i have done one ante post and that one is LINE OF REASON at 25/1
I like these older sprinters and this one is running well enough and with my suspicious mind i dont think they have been trying too ha4d with him readyy for this.
If he runs i will also have to do Boom the groom who ids getting well hcapped again.

There's been nine horses taken out at the 6 day-declaration stage today.

Shamshon is now number 25 on the list, needing five to come out, fingers crossed! We should find out on Thursday shouldn't we.

He beat A Momentofmadness at Newmarket last year. He's a lot better off at the weights

A Momentofmadness is vying for favouritism at around 10/1.

I've been doing the maths. Shamshon is a staggering 19lb better off at the weights for the beating he gave A Momentfmadness last year.

Clearly that horse has improved again since then and carries a four pound penalty for his last victory, but as a Shamshon backer, I just want those five horses to come out.

It's in the lap of the gods...

The Caspian Prince winner Midnight Malibu made all that day and never looked like getting beat. Huge plus is she acts on the course and Tim Easterby is in very good form

A Momentofmadness likely to miss The Dash in favour of a Group Race at Chantilly.

He gets in at number 19 on the list, drawn in six, not far from fancied horses Edward Lewis and Caspian Prince which is good. First time blinkers also a positive. Hoping for a big run.
