I remember as a novice he could not beat Doran's Pride and then fell in the Racing Post Chase when favourite. For those two reasons I found him slow to warm to. Silly me!
He really came into himself after that and he grew in my estimation when running so well in Gold Cups at 12 and 13.
Fitzy gave him some ride in his GC win and boy did he respond !
One of the Cheltenham heroes both in victory and defeat.
