I've just had another look at that BB race won by Al Dancer (re Remastered's chances on Saturday).


Jeeezo, that was some performance. The vast majority of the furlongs were sub-15s and he even put in a couple of sub-14s ones.


For the majority of the race he took them along at speeds in excess of 30mph and even took it up to 33mph at one point early in the straight.


Far from slowing down, which would have been expected after such a gallop, he was still posting 32mph after the last and at the line.


I reckon he might well have won the King George on that kind of run but suspect the Gold Cup might have been beyond it.


Cracking performance for one of his age and history.
