Even bigger news than the USA Presidential Election Result....

Haha.

Don't think we've got any Waitroses up here. Sainburys is as good as it gets.

Mark's and Sparks closed years ago.

Great line - made me laugh - but LUKE has nailed it.
That's the world we live in -went for a cup of tea and a slice of cake in a cafe I have used a lot over the last 10years.The teenager who served me seemed inconvenienced by my presence an hour before closing time.
Bottom line is we live in an age where customer service is a dying art.

19 days since I gave Waitrose the sack and, after prolonged thought considering their excellent Brandy Sauce and the fact their equally-excellent Christmas Pudding is a pound cheaper than some untried Tesco equivalent, I have decided to confine my Waitrose ban to the Old Basing, Basingstoke, branch and make the occasional foray to other Waitrose branches when convenient to do so.

A tremendous recommendation, no doubt, sir, but, as the attachment hopefully illustrates, possibly not the most cost-effective option for the Hampshire, UK, daily food shopper.

It's only 1Km from Leopardstown racecourse. Come for the DRF and I'll give you a personal tour. The fresh fish counter is particularly beguiling.

That's an extremely kind offer, but I decided many years ago that, for various reasons, any form of travelling really doesn't do it for me - I will be googling the fresh fish counter, however.
