If anyone should know Merlin, you should. B)

And Merlin, I must go on record to state that I do not think that you could be described as either!

No, I don't know what an either is either?

I've just seen a trailer for this. I must watch it.

Instead of watching cartoons/crap kids tv, Daisy will sit glued to UK Food for hours. A few years ago before Christmas she happened to stumble across a Fanny Craddock show on there. Daisy was very impressed and insisted we follow Fannys example by cooking pheasant and a ghastly looking orange trifle and have it for Christmas dinner! Mr GG bought the pheasants on his way home from work from a butchers on Christmas Eve. I had never cooked pheasant before, it was a disaster, everyone hated it and I've never cooked it since

I've mentioned it before, but Fanny was a regular on STV's evening news-mag programme. One eveing she made doughnuts and at the end the presenter (Bill Tennent, IIRC) turned to the camera and said, "Well, why don't you try out that recipe at home and let's hope your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's!"

I saw some of the original Fanny Cradock shows, and they were hilarious. She really did look like a gargoyle, while Johnny just teetered about pouring wine and generally being bossed about. Like Griffin, I'll find the reincarnation unmissable viewing, although the prospect of Fanny in full technicolour - turquoise eyeshadow and bright orange lipstick - might require a stiff Scotch or two beforehand. Just like Johnny, then!

I hope that it'll be repeated on BBC$ (most things are) or shown later on BBC1 or BBC2 as on Monday it coincides with both Spooks and Vincent.

There's been some really poor programming recently, which put me in mind of the BHB's fixtures list. I really like Vincent, although I've gone off Spooks now for being so same-o, same-o. And I virtually forget where they've buried The Sopranos - they've definitely concrete-socksed it, haven't they?

In the East River - four miles down stream from Jersey City.

In fact it's where it's always been - Thursday's E4 10.00 pm and repeated on Sundays.

You should view Spooks as recommended by Ian Hislop. For instance, currently our not so merry intelligence band are, as well as dealing with the ever present terrorist threat, combatting the evils of our own government, the CIA and Mossad. As Hislop says, total fantasy, but wouldn't it be nice?

Blimey - that's taking multi-tasking a bit far!

Yes, I did retrieve The Sopranos on E4, but not before I lost the first episode, wrongly thinking it was on Ch.4. I'm back on track with the gay angst at the moment, and crazy Unca Joonya, although it's all getting a bit Eastenderish, never mind East River.

It's repeated later tonight (or maybe early hours of tomorrow morning) on BBC 4, so you can record it without clashing with anything else, Brian, if you want to see it !

Thanks - it's on at 12.15 am so I could either record it or watch it live. (I have no cows to milk in the morning.) I have the Radio Times but I missed the entry as it says, in small print "12.15 - as 9.00"
